Topping a range of already incredible vehicles can be pretty difficult. Luckily for Audi, they absolutely nailed when they released the Audi Q8 in 2018. This crossover blends the capabilities and functionality of an SUV with the sportiness and feel of a sedan. With serious performance and an interior that will make any tech nerd drool, this top-of-the-class vehicle deserves all the praise it can get.

From the Launch of the Audi Q8

The Audi Q8 was first debuted in early 2017, in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show. The idea for the Q8 came from the fact that Audi had never created a direct competitor for the BMW X6, which was released back in 2008. Thanks to the success of the X6, BMW knew that it was time to hop into the midsize luxury SUV market.

The New Face of the Q Family – The Audi Q8

The 2019 Audi Q8 comes with a 3.0L V-6 engine that puts out 335 horsepower. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and of course, the iconic Quattro all-wheel-drive system. To aid the start-stop operation, the company has also included a 48-volt hybrid-assist system. The crossover can go from 0-60 in 5.3 seconds.

On the inside, you have a variety of durable and sophisticated features that fill the cabin. The base model features heated seats and a panoramic sunroof, while the top trim features a leather dashboard and four-zone climate control. There are a pair of high-resolution touchscreens integrated into the center console and dashboard, each with a top-notch infotainment system.

Some of the top safety features include adaptive cruise control, night vision, and stop-and-go technology.

The First Generation of the Audi Q8 (2018-Present)

The Audi Q8 is still in its first generation, and no major updates have been included within the past year. With that said, the company did release a performance-based SQ8 in 2019 that features a 4.0L Biturbo V-8 engine with a hybrid diesel design. The SQ8 comes with new adaptive air suspension, as well as a dynamic handling system with Drive Select.

The Audi Q8 In the News

In recent Audi news, a new version of the Q8, known as the RS Q8, was just spied on Audi’s testing grounds. These camouflaged prototypes have been popping up since 2018, though we finally got a look without it.

Celebrity Endorsements of the Audi Q8

As of right now, we have been unable to find any celebrities who drive Audi Q8s. This may have to do with the fact that the vehicle is still very new, so we can probably expect to see some cruising the streets of Hollywood within the next few years.

Best Audi Q8 Groups

Though the Audi Q8 does not have a group or club that is particular quite yet, the Audi Club of North America is home for a boatload of Audi owners and enthusiasts, and they have tons of information about the Q8.’
