The BMW 8-Series was released back in 1990 as a series of grand tourers, though was originally only available as a two-door coupe. Unfortunately, the car was discontinued in 1999 due to lack of sales. In 2018, the car launched again for a second generation, touting the coupe, convertible, and four-door Gran Coupe models.

On the interior, you get the 12.3” digital gauge display and the 10.3” infotainment system, each of which is totally reconfigurable to fit your preferences. Some of the other top internal features include the onboard Wi-Fi, dual-zone automatic climate control, and semi-autonomous driving mode.
The Evolution of the BMW 8-Series
- First Generation BMW 8-Series (1990-1999)
The first-generation 8-Series was the very first road car to provide drivers with both a V-12 engine and six-speed manual transmission. It was also one of the very first cars to use a drive-by-wire throttle system and a multi-link rear axle. It was designed only as a two-door coupe.
- Second Generation BMW 8-Series (2018-Present)
The second-generation BMW 8-Series release introduced the two-door coupe, four-door Gran Coupe, two-door convertible, two-door M8 convertible, and two-door M8 coupe, to the lineup. The cars were totally redesigned and fitted with modern technology and performance features.

In recent BMW news, the BMW 8-Series just received a major price drop in the land down under. Luxury cars can be fairly expensive in Australia when you consider shipping costs, with a standard 8-Series automobile costing upwards of 275,000 (AUD). Now that the 840i Coupe and Convertible hit the Australian range this year, the prices have dropped by over 70,000 (AUD).
